This weekend my husband is going on a road trip with some friends. Since they are driving to Arizona from LA, it’s going to take about 6 hours to get there. In an effort for him to (potentially) eat less In-n-Out Burger (and I’m probably fighting a losing battle here) I thought I would make him some granola for the trip and to use as breakfast by just adding a little milk.
- 1 cup walnuts with a dash of cinnamon and about 2 tablespoons of honey.
- 1 cup Uncle Sam Original Cereal
- 1/2 cup golden raisins
- 1/4 cup Kashi Go Lean Crunch
- Roasted the walnuts at 325 degrees for 8 minutes. Mix all ingredients together.
I’m a big fan of Uncle Sam’s cereal. At 10 grams of fiber and only 1 gram of sugar per 3/4 cup…you really can’t beat it. Plus it only has 4 ingredients and is Non-GMO, so that’s even BETTER!
Since store-bought granola tends to be too high in added sugar, I’m glad I was able to come up with that tastes good! Now I just need to figure out what yummy appetizer I’m going to make for girl’s night tonight since he is out of town… 🙂

Sounds tasty. Think I will give it a try!
