The best kind of dessert? The kind that you don’t have to share! 🙂
If you’ve been looking for a recipe that uses ingredients that are already in your pantry, look no further than this single serving chocolate mug cake! Â It is healthier than your typical dessert, since it is higher in fiber and lower in sugar than most others, making it a better option for those with diabetes.
I originally shared this recipe with Julianne Hough, and I think you will be just as surprised as she was that black beans in a chocolate dessert is actually a pretty yummy combo!

Hi,
Can it be put on the oven instead of the microwave. If so, what temperature and how long?
Thanks,
Dee

The taste was ok, but I honestly haven’t found hardly any mug cakes that I love.
The biggest problem for me was that I would need to probably quadruple the recipe just so my (individual smoothie-making) blender would even touch the ingredients. Maybe if I used the nut chopper blade? Needless to say the texture was chunky, since I basically just smooshed it all up a little before microwaving it.

Thanks for your feedback, Jamie. Yes, you could definitely use a coffee grinder or nut chopper to blend the ingredients. Also, I’ve found that using high quality chocolate can make a big difference. And if you are looking for a little extra flavor, you can also try adding a teaspoon or so of espresso. 🙂
